    Soreti is an Oromo poet, organiser and writer. Her artistry is a method of storytelling and worldly exploration. She performers and writes with adamant faith that her expression may inspire people to live larger than themselves, to care deeper than this world permits and to believe, really believe, that justice is our right.

     

    Co-founder and organiser at In Our Own Words, Soreti has featured at festivals such as Emerge in the West, Next Stop Melbourne, National Young Writers Festival (Aus), Emerging Young Writers Festival, Melbourne Fringe Festival & Melbourne Festival. She has supported shows for Canadian spoken word artist, Tanya Evanson, local powerhouses Luka Lesson, Zohab Zee Khan. November 2015, she self-published a book of poetry - 'Siyaanne'.   

    Her artistry has also lead her to presenting her work in Washington DC at the Oromo Studies Association’s 29th Annual Conference in 2015.
